The Senior Accountant is responsible for general accounting activities relating to revenue and inventory accounting for Gas Processing Plants & Gas Gathering Systems.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform monthly volumetric allocations, invoicing of revenues and payment of invoices.
  • Read and understand new and amended gas processing and gas gathering contracts in order to correctly account for all contractual revenues and costs.
  • Analyze revenue and explain variances between current month, prior month and budget.
  • Address customer inquiries, researching and resolving volumetric and pricing discrepancies.
  • Prepare various volumetric balancing and analytical reports.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts related to revenue process.
  • Prepare inventory reconciliations and analyze and clear reconciling items.
  • Calculate and record monthly journal entries for revenues, cost of goods sold and/or variable expenses.
  • Prepare gross margin reports for Management.
  • Maintain documentation of the performance of SOX processes that pertain to assigned area.
  • Provide necessary reports and information to Commercial personnel, as needed.
  • Create or update accounting processes, as appropriate, to improve efficiency and accuracy.


  The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree is required. Accounting degree is preferred. Other degrees and industry related experience may be considered in lieu of an Accounting degree.
  • 5 years prior work experience in oil and gas industry is required. Midstream experience in Gas Processing, Gas Gathering or other related areas is preferred.
  • Prefer prior experience in use of TIPS Invoicing Software, Oracle, and Business Objects.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting and industry concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze and make judgments as to the accuracy of accounting data.
  • Strong working proficiency/knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel.
  • Detailed, organized and self-motivated with strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt and manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing dynamic environment.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with all levels within the organization.
